I am a social anthropologist specializing in rural development, anthropology of ecology, communication, One Health, with a gender lens. I am an independent consultant working in Africa and Asia for different national and international agencies to give training, design or evaluate project and conduct research since 1993. I worked extensively with the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) on the development and implementation of effective communications strategies designed to combat Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI). She has 30 years of experience working with small farmers on Newcastle disease control in Asia and Africa. I worked with IFAD to evaluate gender components of livestock and agriculture projects. She also worked with Global Fund, UNAIDS on HIV. Currently, I am working as a consultant on a project implemented by the Department of Infectious Disease and Global Health at Tufts University (Boston, USA) and financed by IDRC in Uganda, Rwanda and Kenya to increase women empowerment in the livestock value chain. I am a research associate in the department of Anthropology at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa.
